Why Illustration Classes?
The definition of 'Illustration' clearly defines its difference to Graphic Design.
Whereas Graphic Design is applied more to commercial uses, Illustration is more applicable to fine art. The line separating the two is, however, becoming progressively more blurred as more and more commercial projects require emotive and distinct visuals.
Illustration is very often used to portray and explain written text. It helps to explain an idea, tell a story or provide decoration. A child's story book or a classic comic book would be good examples of the art of Illustration, whereas magazine and newspaper ads would be defined as Graphic Design.
